Saatchi & Saatchi the second largest agency in Switzerland, with offices in Zurich and Geneva, has a new Chief Creative Officer. The Australian Derek Green will be responsible for roughly 30 creatives in Geneva and Zurich.

Green works for S&S in Switzerland since 2006 as a regional creative director for Procter & Gamble for the region Central Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA). During this time he has won more than 30 international awards and a bronze lion in Cannes last year for Novartis. Green started his carreer in 1994 with Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand, working on clients like HP, Air Newzealand, an NZ Breweries before moving back to Australia to start his own creative consultancy, called «The hairy banana».

After five years, his consultancy merged with Leo Burnett in Sidney where he created many award-winning  campaigns for Canon Digital Cameras, Subaru, Kellog and Heineken. 2005 Green became Chairman of the Interactive Jury for their annual Award show.

Simon Francis, CEO of CEMEA is delighted to have Derek on board. «Derek's creative leadership will strengthen what is already a powerful team, intently focused on the delivery of compelling content solutions that build Loyalty Beyond Reason for our clients.» And the CCO for CEMEA, John Pallant adds: «Our creative liquidity as a region means that clients, both in Switzerland and across Europe, will benefit from Derek's talent. We look forward to seeing some fantastic new work from Derek and his team this year.»

Derek Green will not only take care of international clients and awards, he will also focus on building a better national creative reputation for Saatchi & Saatchi. «We have always concentrated on our image as the best creative agency in Switzerland. Internationally, we have achieved this», he says. «But now we are shifting our focus locally, targeting Zurich. We will not accomplish this with ads for gyms or local bars. This sort of things cheapens shows like the ADC-Award Show. We will achieve this through our like-minded clients, who expect nothing less, than great breakthrough ideas.»

Under the leadership of CEO Kaspar Loeb, the new management team with CFO Yann Lohezic, Managing Director Philippe Meyer and CCO Derek Green is now complete. «It is exactly the team, I always wanted», says Loeb. «It is a perfect, multicultural team with local and international flair. It is fun to work with these guys and the whole team out of Switzerland for Switzerland and the whole world.»
